According to the Roman Catholic Church, abortion is so significant a sin that those who receive or perform one are automatically excommunicated from the church. But Pope Francis is now telling all priests that they can forgive women who've had abortions.
The women must seek forgiveness during a specific time: December 8, 2015 to November 26, 2016, as part of what's called a "Jubilee" on the theme of mercy, which Pope Francis announced in March, according to Reuters.
In a letter published Tuesday, Pope Francis discussed the "tragedy of abortion" as being experienced by some with "a superficial awareness." But, he goes on to explain, many other women experience "this moment as a defeat" and "believe they have no other option."
so God all of a sudden after 400+ years of other Popes is like "psst..guess what..I'm actually okay with it just make them repent during this time frame"
and people wonder why Christianity is quickly declining
