Finishing uni was a huge change and it was pretty traumatic moving out of home to a new city (from the south island to the north island of New Zealand, so separated by sea
) but after a few weeks it all became normal and I made new friends who are all my besties four years later (I'm 23
). Uni/college was great, tho by 3rd year (final year in NZ for under-graduates) I was over it. Then went to Japan for a year and taught English and that was cute but I lived rural which was a bit meh so wasn't much to do on the weekends unless I wanted to drive for eternity.
This year has been my first official year making money and working full-time in New Zealand and it's been cute, but a little tiresome. Like I have money and that's great, but there's not much time to enjoy it in between working full-time. Will probably save up until mid-2016 and get like $15-20k to go on a big overseas experience. Not a very good plan cause it means eventually the money will run out and I'll have to figure out what to do, but I'm just going to have to worry about that when it comes down to it.
Kinda scary joining the rat race and seeing how many people work in my huge corporation and have office jobs and kids to feed and husbands/wives to be there for, **** that kinda settled down life. Perks of being gay - no expectation for family or kids!
