It's not nearly as slow as The Wire(which is amazing but not because of its entertainment value but because of its authenticity).
There are paralells to BE but The Sopranos is much better and the characters are much more well written.
I'm not gonna lie it takes a few episodes to get into it and get all the names and connections down but from then on it is great
