It's just the truth. Madonna's antics was a huge part of her success and what fueled the media's interest.

Rolling around on the floor during her 1984 VMA Like A Virgin performance in a wedding dress, dedicating "Papa Don't Preach" to the Pope, seducing Black Jesus in "Like A Prayer", the Pepsi drama, the entire Erotica era, tossing a grenade at a George Bush look-a-like in "American Life", make-out sessions with twenty-one and twenty-two year old pop stars, (Britney & Christina) etc...I mean it goes on and on. LOL

She wasn't and isn't an Adele-like figure that just stands there and sings.

Gaga, most of her fame is pretty much built on gimmicks. Miley now too but she doesnt pull it off as well, she just comes off as gross 90% of the time. Miley went to the max too fast, now she cant top it and her antics dont have any shock value
