We all know Nicki got into it with Taylor and was labeled as an "angry black woman" online for blasting MTV over a nomination when other big-named black artists like Rihanna didn't even have their most successful works (FourFiveSeconds and Bitch Better Have My Money) in contention. She was also accused of body-shaming thinner women (and Taylor, being the only thin female nominated for VOTY felt Nicki was targeting her). Social justice warriors wanted to shed the negative stereotype of black women being angry and came to Nicki's defense after the media blasted her.

Nicki herself said she wasn't angry, she was disappointed because her work was one of the most impactful videos of its year and went unrecognized without a nomination.

She then let MTV portray her (in what was an obvious skit) as an "angry black woman" with her first thanking her pastor and then proceeding to call Miley a bitch. She was also painted as a sore loser. Miley was portrayed as someone who was humble with the ability to shrug off negative opinions and having a strong backbone, and being able to persevere.

Why did Nicki let the white media play her???
