Unfortunately I stopped going last year (dumb decision). It's even worse because I literally could have won any position I wanted LOL. We just had this years first meeting and I was just looking at all of the officers (Pres/VP/Secretary/Service Director etc) like "that should be me"
I wanted to one year, but I was sick the week I needed to get teachers' signatures and turn in my application.

This happened at my school for sure. The rules said that you weren't eligible if you were suspended for any reason the past year. A friend of mine got suspended for a week for smoking pot and sure enough, he was back on student council the next fall.

d my school has a rule that you must have a 4.0 GPA and no detentions and this one girl has a 3.6 and got detention all the time but she still got student council and surprise her mom worked for the school
That's just one example. half of the student council are a bunch of "who?"s whose parents also work or the school
I was in student council by filling out an application and getting like 25 peer signatures. I didn't run for any position though, I just had to attend the meetings and student council sponsored events, once in a while sign up to help organize stuff The biggest contribution I made was joining the registration committee for my school's Relay for Life.
