Eh you're kinda right she needed a slap in the face. ARTPOP failed because she gotten so high and mighty with BTW she thought she could continue to make music that wasn't public friendly, thrown together, and "better than normal Pop" and it was getting out of hand.
However; had she made DWUW, Applause, Sexxx Dreams, and Gypsy the singles she'd have gotten a 2x bigger era.
