How can you truly have a contradictory belief?

acceptance is the key to be, to be truly free.

Say you really want a certain job. You apply and get rejected and you decide that job wasn't any good anyway. That belief changed because the job wasn't attainable.

Technically when you're criticizing the thing you once loved, it doesn't mean you don't still love it.

For instance, when a couple breaks up they might show resentment/anger towards each other but still have feelings for one another.

How can you assume the love came first? Why could they not have arrived at the same time?
