The media wanted a trainwreck so they tore at her most vulnerable parts: Her heart (at the time to that guy and her newborn)

It was sad to see it begin in execution.
Normally, they would just write someone off as a hasbeen and leave them be as they can't monetize the situation.

They were HELLBENT on monetizing her break so that she could not only never comeback but destroy her personal life which was the biggest issue of 2005.

2006 was worst but it just was so long. 2005 was the transition from destroy her career to destroy her personal life which was taking it too far IMO

I was so scared of her dying during the meltdown era and even a little scared during the FF era. There was something completely off with her in 2011, but her team were just better at hiding it than in 06 - 08.

But 2005 was not that sad. I mean the saddest was the year we all saw the public turn on her and basically root for her to die. 2007 that is. early 2008 was pretty bad too but it did start to look up soon as the conservatorship was placed. Ofc that backfired on us right now. This is what happens when you put band aids on bullet holes.

2004 her continuation of being in control by being out of control but still getting business done. Realizing that 5 years without a break and dealing with the pain of heartbreak took it's toll and her team was still pushing her to go faster and she wanted to slow down which is why she was so desperate to get married and start a family. rebellion of her image. Media began to turn but iwth baby steps

2005 After having SP, the media started to change their destructive tactics from calling her trash to calling her a bad mother who was married to a guy that was using her and they nitpick at all her decisions. the beginning of invading her privacy.

2006 After executing the plan to take her down personally, she finally divorced her husband had a glimmer of hope for a comeback and then destroyed it thanks to her team setting her up with Lindsay and Paris. She got caught up in drugs. Angered that her mom wasn't there for her during her divorce due to her mom being their for her dying sister (britney's Aunt), felt betrayed by her team, was dealing with 2 kids under 2 (postpartum) and using partying as an escape from real life.
She began rebelling as everything just was out of sorts.

2007 go big or go home. Meltdown in the most epic way...she gained some sympathy but then going back to her downward spiral antics. Created a gem of an album but just became completely caught up in the addiction of flashing lights

2008 complete fall from grace...rose like a phoenix to make the biggest comeback in music history

2009 continued the comeback era.

2010 a shift began (possibly resting on her comeback and got lazier)

2011 laziness really took form during this era.

2012 Bleh

2013 Achieving a WW #1 hit rose expectations...then the announcement that Will i am never going to be was the EP then Work btch slayed and the vegas deal was announced. People weren't sure she'd do well and it painted her as a potential hasbeen.

2014. Experiencing her first flop but Vegas was a hit. Will be credited for reviving it and making it a playing field for younger artists with catalog to make more without the pricey travel costs.

2015: She became this confident woman again seeing how all these pop stars are doing it wrong and are boring and she needs to get things back right to make it exciting again.

Somehow, a day she was off her meds, it was decided that Pretty girls was the "fun" she got back on her meds and realized what did I just do and then Iggy kept pushing her team until she caved in and said sure what's the worst that could happen?

so the worst happened. But she proved she can still garner interest but she needs to make iconic pop hits.
