These writing camps seem scary. Imagine being locked away for days with a set minimum of how many songs you have to churn out, only to have most/all of them rejected by a bored artist who spent no more than 2 minutes half-listening to a demo take.
This isn't shade to Rihanna, I love her, but artists who use writing camps in general (it must be exhausting listening to song after song after song).
As an aspiring songwriter myself, I'd kind of like to try it though. I think it would be a really interesting experience, to say the least.
Bionic was done in 2009 and then pushed back a whole year plus for Burlesque filming and then songs (some bad ones) were added later 
With that logic every songwriter should stop doing what he/she loves for something he/she likes less or something he/she hates.
