If you go to metacritic and see the best rated albums it' s mostly black people and mostly Hip Hop/Rap/ R&B otherwise it'd be Indie/Alternative etc.

The people bothered by this are people who think what only passes for a relevant music career is constantly being on the Hot 100. Let them be dumb.

Shows how lacking these execs are when they are desperate to sign artists that most likely have peaked, given how fickle and fragmented the modern music market is now. They should be wanting to sign the next Adele or Taylor.

Labels want album sellers above all. Albums are where the labels make the most coins, so music execs want those album artists above all.

Taylor, Gaga and Adele are the obvious choice. They all sell albums (Artpop can be recovered from) and are young enough to still have plenty of time to release more albums.

Anyway, the full survey results are due to be released in September, so it will be interesting to see what other industry opinions emerge.

The industry believes in Gaga because she can carry herself. She doesn't need her label and men in suit dictating her what to do. Her vision and creativity is immense and that will carry her around.
