Absolutely. There have been 850 mass shootings in the last three years. If that number could even go down to 849 due to stricter laws, then we need to do it.

One, we need stiffer background checks.

Two, I'm not sure if there is one, but there needs to be a wait. You shouldn't be able to wake up and say "hm, think I'm gonna get a gun today.".

Three, I think they should do like... conditions for owning a gun. I.E. limit it to home owners, people who are married/have children etc. People who could actually make a case for wanting one. There's no reason a random 18 year old should own a gun.

Four, there should be random check ins with owners to see if the gun is still actually in their possesion. This way, you can prevent people giving their guns away to people who didn't purchase them.

Lastly, the only thing I can think of for people with illegally-owned guns is offer amnesty. Give illegal owners the opportunity to turn in their gun with no penalty (as long as no crime has been committed with that gun).
