Again as a reporter you train yourself to keep focus on your subject, especially while live on the air. As I said before when she first glanced she probably thought it was a guest or worker who was being courteous waiting to pass by them after they were done with the interview.
And in the graphic video it clearly shows she was turned away talking to the chamber of commerce person when he pulled out the gun and began to fire.
