I really want to like her, but she throws in way to many vocal frills and I don't like the sound of her tone. Riffs and runs are meant to be the icing on the cake of a vocal, not used on every other note. She's objectively a really good singer, but ugh.

That's really nit-picky. And her studio vocals sound much different than when she does acoustic performances like this for fun. Just enjoy it for what it is.

You were being nit-picky and there's nothing wrong with that, it's your opinion. I happen to enjoy her "runs and frills" because she has a good voice to carry out the notes. Different strokes.
