To the people saying "Before Gaga and Eminem"

Welp.. it's all about timing and management. Plus Eminem would have to be in the MOOD to do a huge performance etc. and it would never FIT for Em to be the honoree during the Miley Cyrus hosted VMA anyway

As for Gaga, she won't attend and a Vanguard Award would do nothng for her at this time.

And I don't like how they started giving it to anyone.

JT didn't really deserve it in my opinion, he has had like 3 solo albums And NSYNC don't really have anything extraordinary when it comes to visuals etc.

Congrats to Kanye tho, he is the only one sans Eminem that deserves it from the Rappers.

Next HAVE to be Gaga. Otherwise this award will just lose its credibility...

What makes you think Gaga is ever getting it? She only had two years where she won a lot of VMAs, and her pop career has, no shade but lbr, declined massively. All the Video Vanguard winners are people who had longevity.

Gaga is the third most awarded artist in VMA history ONLY behind Beyonce who started in 1998/2003 and Madonna (30 years)

Let alone that Bad Romance is being named the best video of the 00s by several reputable sources and Telephone has been named the best video of the 10s so far, by the same sources.

Gaga is getting the Vanguard award, it's obvious as hell She is the reason VMA became interesting again.
