It depends -- light freckles usually don't detract from someone's beauty and sometimes adds character, IMO, but if they're super dense and look splotchy I don't typically find that attractive. They can also look bad/strange if the freckles are too dark or the contrast between the person's skin stone and the freckles is too extreme (this often happens with really porcelain skinned redheads).
But, then again, having a beautiful face/features can overcome a lot, because someone like her:
I don't think the freckles hugely detract even in fitting the exact description of what I just said I think typically looks bad, but an average looking or homely person with that same exact complexion...
