Putting a song on iTunes does not a ""single"" make. The nature of the single in context to the industry is changing rapidly even as we speak anyway.

endorsements =/= promo, not Bey's fault that she happened to have songs laying around to aid the campaigns (songs that the companies clearly wanted)

so we got two songs that were altered drastically before their actual (PURCHASABLE!) release, one song that made the cut only as a bonus video and another that was specifically written for a movie / not sure why it was even brought up......... excellent examples, Nancy Drew but u may wanna stick to the case of the missing business (your own) because cyber sleuthing aint for u!

one more thing: yes it does. in the most traditional sense, it completely does. Rihanna doesn't release things without putting them on iTunes, and this thread is about Rihanna. Not that self titled should have been brought up in the first place, but since u seem to know it the **** all!!!!! ya, putting it on iTunes definitely indicates intention either as a single or promo single, Beyoncé did none of that she just independently leaked music

but the point, that no one including the weirdo above, doesn't seem to grasp is that no one really knows what's going on w/ R8 because none of us are Rihanna or anywhere close to her team so any theories on how people are 'missing the bigger picture' are just as dumb as the conspiracy theories that the album is scrapped; point blank period none of us know and the statement to Billboard was fishy..

like even w/ Bey's surprise release, people can huff and puff all they want to tell me that album wasn't delayed and it came out when it was supposed to i just simply don't believe it. i think Bey had to go in and change things throughout the process until it got to the incarnation of Self Titled that we know today but the album effectively could have been released in October or November...... perhaps even earlier but she was just late on filming videos and ****

this is the same thing w/ Rihanna. if i had to speculate (again because i don't know and don't pretend like i do) i would imagine that Kanye has dropped out of the project and Rih's camp is kinda just like 'welp' (or was, rater) until they figure(d) out how to finish the record. Maybe it'll come soon, maybe it won't, but it's been 8 months since the lead and i'm expected to believe this album ain't delayed? k

Rihanna said herself in April that she wanted to release the album ASAP cause she wanted people to hear it. Anybody claiming there was no album is clearly delusional. I'm not saying it's scrapped but clearly somethong went wrong along the way. We have half album worth of singles plus snippets by now.

TBH the Home sountrack gave us the taste of what's to come when they suddenly downgraded it from Rihanna's album to various artists joint and J Lo singing main single.

Clearly you don't know what a single is. Snippets and 2 leaks are not singles. Rise Up was the only on Itunes and it wasn't even a single either.

Might as well at this point. Songs released from it were not met with much love so its understandable they are having doubts. Does not look like a profitable project for the label.
