Second Iteration - Third Iteration
Alan had a beard :O
I like Bob Morris, you can tell he has a good idea what the Hammond Foundation and InGen are doing but he doesn't want to say because it sounds preposterous.
Alcohol is so dehydrating why did they think it was a good idea to bring so many cases to somewhere so hot? Alcoholics maybe.
I hadn't realised Isla Nublar was spanish for Cloud Island. A homage to King Kong maybe
That missed opportunity for a 'Rabies on a Plane' prequel.
downbywednesday I was looking for those historical mentions and I coudn't find them but they are here on p44.
Considering they are talking about hoaxes and rediscoveries I think it makes sense. It's so strange but amazing to me that they are still making rediscoveries and finding new species on the planet to this day.
I like John Hammond. The way he talks, you get a sense his eccentricity and it's so endearing. Lol at him discovering one of his dinosaurs has escaped during that phone call.
Donald Gennaro seems like a good character, a little sexist but no one is perfect. Shame they didn't show him as a sharp, muscular, family man in the film.
It's so interesting reading about the excavation equipment at the time. I wonder what equipment they have now?
I remember Grant scaring that kid in the film, makes me now think he was actually drunk.
The Biosyn meeting with Dodgson was so interesting. 'Wayne Knight' was perfect casting as Nedry.
Ian Malcolm is by far the most annoying character but his theories add so much. It does feel a bit odd that while Ian is talking about the islands destined failure, Alan and Ellie still seem in the dark about the park.
Poor Ed Regis, important to the book but not the film.
When Alan mistook a Brontosaurus for a tree trunk lol.
I enjoyed that!

I'm a bit behind but I'm enjoying it.
First Iteration
I really like that it has a bit of backstory. The whole setting with the doctor on Costa Rica and the poor guy that was killed by the raptor attacks was interesting. I liked the element of the locals being scared of the "raptor" as if it was some mythological creature that steals children.
The poor baby getting killed though was sad
. And that nurse not reporting it is a mess!
I'm happy Tina made a recovery and I'm excited to read more about what happens with the dinosaur carcass and how it'll be identified.
Slaying so far and it's not even introduced the main characters from the movies yet
.

I'm quite a bit behind (only at 6% right now) but will catch up in the next few days.
Its quite weird to me, I never read something remotely similar.
I really enjoy the description of new species. Is the information about Costa Rica true (a lot of rare animals and plants, varied landscape and so on)?

This is one of my favorite books, I wish they included the
T-Rex river rafting/waterfall chase
in the movie, I read that they partially filmed scenes for it but it was too expensive so they cut it.
