Yes, and it's disgusting. How is a person sexually abusing a minor seen as better or worse simply based off of the offenders gender. I guess it's something to do with females not being able to penetrate (well, naturally anyways) but still, forcing sex on someone is the same crime no matter what. There's also an attitude that young boys are always down for sex, and if a pretty older female came onto them that there's no way they wouldn't be into it, therefore they're not victims (untrue) It makes me sick when I see a female sex offender get off with limited jail time or no time at all
If anything, it's occurs for the same reason that feminism exists and is what feminism fights against. There's a double standard and people are much less likely to find females threatening. They're not taken seriously.
