My ex boyfriend recently came back into my life like a week ago and he says things will be different. So i sent him a text he reads it immediately and then doesn't respond for a couple hours after, then he says oh i just read the message now when clearly the iMessage says message read (at this time) He does this sometimes and its so annoying lol

I'm a busy individual, and so are my friends, so we tend to respond at our convenience. It's different for established romantic relationships though.

Waiting hours to respond in that context, in my experience, is a red flag if there was one. Either they're gaming, indifferent, or have communication issues. It's never a positive.

Yes its rude. Different thing if they reply later and have a reason, but if they don't at all then that is annoying.
