I'm referring specifically to acronyms used in ATRL to refer to songs or albums. Some of the time, the acronyms leave little room for doubt like GGGB, WFL, TTWE. But the majority of the time the acronyms are confusing, puzzling, and simply annoying.

Is this trend tragic and does it need to stop?

No. Acronyms are great.

What is TTWE

If the song or album has been frequently mentioned or is regularly referred to by its acronym, then no (for example, MBDTF, BOMT). If not, then yes it is lazy, because you're confusing people who might not know be familiar with what the acronym stands for.

Yes. I'm definitely one of the members that abhors acronyms. I always type out the whole song or album. Our kind is in the minority, unfortunately, Vato. Acronyms are especially annoying when the song/album is very new, very old, or isn't well known. 80% of the time, I don't know what the acronyms stand for. Just as well, I usually don't care enough to ask anyhow.

If the song or an album has 4-5 or more words in it it's much easier to write just this: DUHFR

If the song or album in question has already been mentioned in a thread or is the topic at hand then acronyms are okay because we already know what you're talking about.

But if you just mention a random song or album by acronym it confuses people.

I'm sorry but I'm not writing out High By The Beach when I could just write HBTB and most people would understand
