And in this new sexual utopia the old categories – heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual – are eroding, collapsing and becoming something else. Now you can be a “bisexual homoromantic”, part of a “forward-thinking movement” where anyone can define themselves whatever way they see fit. It’s an open and equal society where anything goes and everyone’s accepted.
I don't think most people are fully one or the other whether or not they decide to act on whatever thoughts/feelings (or even admit them). I'm a ~hetero woman and I enjoy looking at women, but it doesn't go much further than that. I couldn't picture myself being in a romantic relationship or ongoing sexual relationship with another woman, but I can't say that I view all other women in a completely asexual manner, either. Dr. Kinsey spilled this tea decades ago already, anyhow.
I wouldn't be surprised. Sexuality is fluid and on a spectrum. Because homosexuality was such a taboo before, I guess people didn't express even the slightest attraction they had to the same sex. But now since society is more open about it, more people accept the fact that they're not exclusively attracted to the opposite sex.
Makes sense. I can't tell you how many bi people I've met in the past year. I'm gay, but I find myself slightly attracted to girls. I have a cousin who is straight and told me he is attracted to guys "a little bit". Sexuality is fluid. Some people just never explore that side of themselves because of what society tells them to believe.
I think with same love acceptance, straight people are more willing to get with a member of the same sex. Like, if I really need release, a woman can do the job just as good as a man, well maybe not.
I wish more studies would be done in the US. We been knowing that the UK and Europe is a lot more sexually open with certain things.
