Clarkson's Producer -- I Would Never 'Dupe' Kelly

The guy Kelly Clarkson blames for allegedly making her look like a song-stealing rip-off artist claims he would never 'dupe' anyone -- and the idea is both "hurtful and absurd."

Clarkson basically threw producer Ryan Tedder under the bus after people pointed out her new single "Already Gone" has the same backing track as Beyonce's single, "Halo" -- which are both songs Tedder produced.

Now, Tedder is firing back at Clarkson with the following statement:

"Already Gone" is one of the best song I've written or produced since "Bleeding Love" and stands tall on it's own merits apart from "Halo".

They are two entirely different songs conceptually, melodically, & lyrically and I would never try to dupe an artist such as Kelly Clarkson or Beyoncé into recording over the same musical track, the idea is both hurtful & absurd.


I think when people hear "Already Gone" they will hear what I hear-one of the greatest female vocalists on earth giving her most haunting and heart-breaking performance on a song she helped write.

I challenge people to listen and form their own opinions."

Halo and Already Gone both stand on their own IMO. I love both. If you don't. Poor you.

But honestly, he can't deny they really sound similler even if not 100% the same...He needs to get creative.

Hey dumbass, people have listened to both songs and formed their own opinion. That's why you're having to make a statement

Except, not really... The differences between these tracks are minimal, especially melodically. Just own up to your melody recycling, Ryan! It's not like you don't recycle beats or chorus structure (I can see your halo, halo, haalooooo/i'm already gone, already gone, already gooooone/keep bleeding, keep keep bleeding) for all of your songs. Repetition and recycling are the keys to your success, and that's ok (it works for Stargate), just don't act like it's some huge atrocity when someone calls you out on it.

I didn't really think they were THAT alike until I heard a mashup of both songs. That really lets you see that they're essentially the same.

The thing is, once someone finds something that works for them then they normally keep using it ... aka Halo and Already Gone. I think they both sound different and I don't see that much of a similarity between the two.

The mashups illustrate it pretty brilliantly. Every time I'm in my car and listening to Already Gone I sing Halo over top of it just for funzies. There are a few points in the track where the melodies don't absolutely sound perfect together, but they're so damn close that it honestly wouldn't have taken 5 minutes of reworking for him to turn the Halo melody into the Already Gone melody, or vice versa.

He and the record company are such assholes Poor Kelly and Beys*s
