rose ave. was a blast and absolutely necessary after the trilogy, but its you+me. i want a leftfield record under her stage name again. and to me leftfield doesnt mean solely folk-style songs like rose ave. was.

also, i met someone yesterday who listened to you+me and i told him that that was pink singing... his answer was "really? that style doesnt suit her at all"... on one hand i wanted to smack him, on the other hand i understood that the casual listener thinks of the run-of-the-mill katy perry type songs when thinking of pink. and thats sad.

Of course I would want that too. The City and Colour song pinktennisfreak posted is something she could REALLY do. It sounds pretty P!nkish. I don't really know why she didn't stick to him as a producer - I think he could be P7's Linda Perry. I keep repeating Wasted Love and it sounds so her.

On the new song: Absolutely terrible. It's a marriage of Tonight's The Night and True Love. Theme song or not, I have no interest in replaying it because it's something like Carly Rae would do.

This line could be one of her worst. Even the rythm sounds so cheap like she didn't know what other cliché she could use for that part.

Exactly. Not sure why she even wanted to put that album just out there without official release. I think she said something in lines like "We were thinking to actually put it just on the Internet, but that's illegal and I don't want to lose my house..." Why, Beth?! As EW said, roseave may be the most important album she has ever made. And it's true. That side of her is not familiar to people and it's a shame. Cuz that will distinct her from others in pop world. And probably make her a legend.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels the same. Even lyrics scream her in my opinion.

As for the song, God help us if Kurstin is the main producer on the album. The lyrics are not even that problem. It's for a talk time show and Ellen's demographic goes from 7 to 77, but God that sound, her voice pitched to death all over again, electric guitars and reverb, generic chorus that follows the same structure as Kelly Clarkson's songs. Oh, God?! Do I need to tell more?!

^ the only thing it has in common with tonights the night is a similar title. i wouldnt put this in the same boat at all. even weve got scurvy is a masterpiece in comparison. and the vocal production sounds like crap.

but we need the full song. for now it sounds amazingly uninspired af

I don't get all the hate for Today's the day. It's just a theme song, it wasn't supposed to be a lyrical masterpiece.

After what CMT wrote, I expect a couple of songs that will make us cry. Maybe a song looking back at the last 15 years of her life/career.

Because We've Got Scurvy shouldn't be taken seriously. But in these shots she seems really into the song, the reverb etc. and since this song was registered with 2 other Greg songs, she must have done them around this time - which means the other two has the same musical vein most probably. I hope that she just did a couple of songs with him and there is a new producer we don't know about. Every album had a different main producer who influenced the whole thing. Linda, Tim, Billy, Max/Butch, Greg, Dallas. If she goes back to Greg again, it'll be really a replication of a prevous era.

^ yeah people get older and move on. they change. i get that they arent as active or as passionate about pink as before (i mean we see that in pink herself and how her priorities have changed and how she doesnt seem to give a crap about PP anymore herself, not to mention the lackluster musicality).

but you are right: the mods could just pass the baton to someone younger who has time on their hands. dont know how the member thing works but it seems like from the people you tried to get to PP only 1 or 2 actually did make an account...

but maybe SA isnt replying intentionally and wants things to be a surprise? who knows. lets wait and see.

I'm sorry to hear that, really. And I don't understand why they don't give the power to someone else because they clearly have no interest in keeping up the site. All we would need is the possibility to allow new members, without that it's all gonna die completely.

No idea who SA is... but I remember there was a while there were two forums - one new one, and the old PP. P!nk actually has a loyal following - look at the European team, the US team pages... They post every day, and they track things like release dates. And they get a lot of likes each post. So if this could be sorted out properly it could really work.

I do need "people" in my life with whom I can talk about P!nk 24/7.

Guess the Ellen show will be THE day. Either she'll announce something (hopefully not pregnancy). If not, we're not getting new music till next year.
