On whether he was worried to lose his female following after coming out: "Honestly? No. Because I think that the emotional weight of my songs goes beyond using a male or female pronoun."
Gay people making their love lifes public: "Why can a musician be a lady-killer, but not gay? Says who? Why is a singer with a different model on his arm each time a cool guy? They are clichés, bull**** that we need to leave behind. And when you decide that it doesn't make sense to follow these rules, you realize that the people are ready to listen to you and that they understand. I always say it to those friends, and there are still many of them, who are convinced that in their world, for their career, coming out as gay is a handicap. As long as you simply explain it to those around you, you'll see that the way they feel towards you won't change."
Whether he supports abortion: "In general, I would like to live in a world where people are free to choose. Also when it comes to abortion. I have two friends who felt like they had no other choice. I didn't agree, for me the birth of a child is a miracle, I was convinced that in the end things would've gone fine, and I did everything I could to change their mind. But in the end they made their choice, I respect it and I love them like before."
Gay rights in Italy: "Here the patriarchal-religious mentality has a massive fan club and I fear that it will take several generations before anything changes. I feel sorry for those who pretend that certain things are not happening. And it's a shame, because it would be a lot less tiring for everyone. Aside from giving a place in the world to those who already exist it would be an advantage in general. It would benefit the economy, for example. You think that in America they approved gay marriage without doing the math?"
Whether he still supports the Pope: "I would like for his words to become his actions."

Musically, guys bragging about how many girls they get and how cool they are is so redundant and predictable and so is the image of the 40-year old bachelor that sleeps with 20-year old models. We need more celebs to go against the grain
The fact that in the US homosexuality is more visible doesn't make it more supported. In Italy, the typical mentality is "do what you want as long as you don't do something bad to me".

it's always the older generations holding their antiquated beliefs to us, when the youth is more accepting! but from my experience where i live in the US homosexuality is very accepted (or at least tolerated) than when i was in italy

You must've been to the south then, they live in the past.
I think homosexuality in Italy is being more and more accepted over the years. Like, in 2010 all of my friends used to drag gays but now they fully support them.
Congrats Tiziano, so well-spoken
