The guy that was talking to her was amazing. Calm, rational and eloquent

She actually shut them down....she had a very good, logical response to their concerns. The Black lives matter movement needs to really think about 2-3 issues they want politicians to address, convery exactly how they want those issues addressed via legistlation and demand that politicians make it a priority to pass those laws.That's the reason why the civil rights movement was successful ( they fought for voting rights and desegregation) it's the reason why the feminist movement was successful (fought for voting rights and equality in the work place), it's the reason why the Gay rights movement was successful (fought for marriage equality). It's all good and well to chant Black lives matter but you've gotta come with specific ways as to HOW you want your politicians to address issues that effect the AA community. That's all Hillary was saying...let's focus on making LAWS!

There's only so much a legislator, never-mind a politician, can actually do to fix culture.

Legislation's a different story. Does legislation fix culture or vice versa? Hillary's wasn't admitting culpability enough via her husband in the 90s and the protestors weren't specific enough. This isn't going to move anything forward.

Realistically, body camera's nationwide and changed mass incarceration laws re: drug offenses are the only realistic goal posts for change in the next decade. Institutional racism regarding social mobility is much more ingrained and will take much longer. This whole conversation seemed counter-productive.

I think all of her points were valid. The #BlackLivesMatter needs a plan and needs to find a way to "bring people from the sidelines" like she said. They need to figure out how to bring these well-spoken, civilized and intelligent leaders to the forefront because right now these people are in the shadows. The movement (while 100% valid) has never felt like it was truly about equality but revenge. Anyone who isn't black is immediately dismissed with the "racism" trump card and told to "go educate yourself". I've seen it multiple times on this forum and in other places. Anger about the current societal situation is justified but towards other people is when you lose their attention from your cause. How is telling other people to "read a book" and "go educate yourself" going to get anyone on your side? A minority group needs allies in order to achieve their goal and it unfortunate that it just seems like a majority of the BlackLivesMatter movement just want to lash out and bring negativity. I feel bad for the people (like the ones in the video) who are really trying to make a difference and going about it in the best and most effective way possible but they get drowned out.

#BLM is fighting for FAIR treatment in the justice system. How hard is that for people to understand? Also I guess there are no more gay rights activists or feminists anymore.

Why are Black Lives Matter activists coming for the Democratic candidates while ignoring Republicans who would actually be against their cause? It just seems counter-productive, because it creates negative attention towards Democrats who really need to win this upcoming presidential election.
