Before the current crop of illegals came to the US, the people in those countries were doing the jobs the illegals are doing now.

Most countries don't give you citizenship just because you're born there. The USA is in the minority.



Dark blue gives automatic citizenship unconditionally, the rest do not.

There's no such thing as an "illegal immigrant" it's either you're documented or undocumented.

And for the Latin American ones, there may even be some caveats if I'm not mistaken.

You can also look at it as you are either here legally or illegally...

That is why we have immigration laws. You don't have to cross the southern border to be here illegally, many over stay their visas be it student, work or travel...
