Agnostic. I don't believe in organized religion, but who knows if someone or something didn't intentionally create the universe? We know so little, I can't answer and tbh I don't even care.
Atheist here. Imo most people believe in religion to satisfy their primitive fear of the unknown and to feel comfortable with their life after death. To me, it's blatantly obvious that the world's major religions are misleading and plain wrong.
Do I think there's a God? Maybe, probably not. For all we know, the entire universe is part of some computer simulation in a lab somewhere. But I think it's really misguided to be certain that there's a God when there's no clear evidence that points that way. There is overwhelming evidence, however, that shows that we're just a bunch of talking monkeys on a flying rock in an ever expanding universe and our bodies just decompose away when we die so that's what I know to hold true.
Deep down I may be an agnostic, but I prefer to take the atheistic stance most of the times to avoid any doubts and educating people on what agnosticism is altogether.
I'm slowly converting to these ideologies. It's refreshing to be free of environmental fairy tale belief systems. I hate the label atheist or agnostic.. I believe what can be proven. I've lost my religion.
fffff I just came back to read Jei-boy's mess and I saw myself on the first bunch of pages, my Crystalline phase was trash nnn. Let me bring this gif back tho.
Ignore Jei-boy, he's appropriating Christian culture, most of us are nicer.
In the book, Hitchens contends that organised religion is "violent, irrational, intolerant, allied to racism, tribalism, and bigotry, invested in ignorance and hostile to free inquiry, contemptuous of women and coercive toward children" and sectarian, and that accordingly it "ought to have a great deal on its conscience."
I think no respect should be given to religion and it should be treated with the same contempt as believing in Santa after a certain age. Just because many people believe in something doesn't mean society as a whole should endorse it or worse encourage it.
The only Gods I believe in are Katy Perry and Taylor Swift
No but seriously I am traveling to Europe in a few days and I've heard people there are way less religious than in the American South so it should be interesting. Not like American young people are super religious but I don't know, religion is still strong in this part of the country
I'd just like to point out how I have a strong dislike for people who shame someone for their beliefs. I may look down on organised religion (I keep it to myself tho) but I'd never go "OMGG you lunatic you believe in a made up man!!!" because I think its incredibly wrong, problematic, and damaging. But it works exactly the other way too, so maybe Jei-Boy needs to learn some respect instead of being those ****ing pricks who knock on your front door every ****ing day wanting to shove his belief down our throat like is a ****.
