The ignorance in this thread.
Detectives typically don't dress in uniform and they carry a weapon. Because he hesitated he was beaten with his own weapon, the suspect was not armed. Had the detective shot and killed this guy, which he had every right to, it would have been #blacklivesmatter and chaos.
When someone is reaching for a service weapon it's game over for them, he should have burried this guy.
A detective is just a cop on assignment in plain cloths, it's not a rank. Sergeant is a rank.
All those people who posted pics online should be charged.
