Never gonna happen.
Gays represent like 4.5% of the population, not even the 10% people seem think.
Why would they risk backlash for a movie that would only appeal to 4.5% of the population, when only a fraction of that have children to take to these films.
Disney is a children's company, so I doubt they would risk it.
Never gonna happen.

I'm not saying it should/will happen now but maybe in a few decades.
I'd say no only because I can't think of a scenario at the moment where Disney would even fathom the thought without it being from a disingenuous place. Like the OP stated: they'd lose a **** ton of money.
I mean, even now there are so few successful movies with gay lead characters.
If you look at the movies Box Office Mojo labels under the genre of "gay" since 1980, the top 6 are actually all from the 90s. For this century only Brokeback and Imitation Game have crossed the 10 mil US ticket mark, and many felt the latter's protagonist's sexuality was under-explored.

it won't happen as far as I know I read on tumblr that Disney have thought about it BUT big countries like Russia have told them that they would boicott it so no one would see it and those countries are they biggest markets, so I don't see it happening :/
