It's called "giving it your all". Gospel singers scream all the time...it's powerful. They call it one of Xtina's best performances cause it is.

This performance touched a lot of people, the soul and emotion in that video is something that pop artists today cannot do. It is praised because it showed a true performer embodying a huge classic and delivering it like she wrote the song herself. The praise is deserved.
