Their last Korean album was January 2013 & their last Japanese one was December 2013.
If your friend was right, they wouldn't make well over $100 million a year from Japanese & Korean releases alone
They haven't declined because they're national treasures in Asia. They're the most expensive celebrities & have 10's of endorsements between them at a time and thus make a **** ton of money. Also, when they have a comeback, they sweep all the charts & the music awards.

Koreans aren't here for them musically anymore like they were years ago, but that's pretty much the only area they've declined in (+ Japanese popularity while we're at it.).
I really like the demo of the song, IT'S PERFECT. I hope they at least give the rap part to Hyoyeon, the demo slay me so hard, I hope their version slay me too
