Not everybody can do a dark era as good as Rated R or The Fame Monster. I mean Katy can do dark songs like Circle The Drain, but imo I don't see her doing it for an album. Plus if it's not broke don't fix it.

Because I think many people see her sound as being stagnant for the past two era (which is both true and untrue to some extent) and it would be great to see her in a different setting for once.

Also, she has a lot of dark **** that has happened for her to write some really dark and angry songs about (her divorce, the Taylor feud, etc.). If Katy wanted to, she could really go there on so many topics and I hope to god she does because I'd probably consider stanning.

ATRL wants to see her flop. Almost everyone who goes "dark" flops later on.

As I said in the Katy base, I don't usually listen to music to feel sad, and I certainly don't listen to Katy to feel sad. She does uplifting and positive so well, why fix what ain't broke?

Because she said that PRISM would be really dark in contrast to her previous albums and then the only really dark song on the album was "Dark Horse." And now that "Dark Horse" is one of Katy's biggest songs, I think people figure that if she maintains a sound like that, she'll continue to be successful. Besides, if Katy's contemporaries pulled off a dark pop album (Gaga with The Fame Monster and Rihanna with Rated R), I'm sure ATRL figured that she could pull it off, too.

Idk about a dark era, but I want her to explore her suave voice, like she did with DH. She needs to stop trying to hit high notes and serve some sultry vocals

Katy's strength is her bubbly, light, doesn't-take-herself-too-seriously personality. A dark era wouldn't suit her in my opinion, it seems to me the majority of people on ATRL that want a dark era from her are little monsters because they know she would probably flop if she did do a dark era

A pop star having the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude is the ****ing worst.
