I used to hear contradicting information about this all the time too. I don't think it matters THAT much, if you try your hardest at everything you'll see improvements. I did a mixture, cardio before, cardio half way through, cardio after, cardio before AND after. All sorts of things... This was for 2 years going 3-7 times a week, I really did try all sorts of combinations. Honestly, I preferred doing cardio at the beginning, but I don't think it matters that much really, since the periods when I did it afterwards I was still getting bigger. I have no explanation as to why, it's just what I preferred out of everything.
But now I've stopped doing cardio altogether. I stay really lean naturally, I always have a very low bodyfat. But with a lot of exercises I'll do low weights, high reps and lots of sets with little breaks (which ends up maybe 100-200 reps in 10 minutes depending on the exercise), so it's kind of like cardio and really tires me out and makes my muscles extremely sore too! But I also do the other extreme with really heavy weights, low reps and long breaks. And I do a range in-between too. I think it's good to mix it up.
