Does anyone else feel like the emoticon is a biT condescending? To me, it feels like the members who use it are making fun of ATRL stan culture and people who use smilies like and . Also, I've noticed that it's mostly only used by older members. It's like they want to elevate themselves above newer members by doing subtle things like using the smilie instead of ones like the other two I posted, which newer members really like to use.

It depends. In certain situations it's just a light, cute laugh. In some it looks condescending.

This. I don't think I have ever used it condescendingly. I use it to show a slight chuckle, because I often respond similarly in person.

I could definitely see how it could be used condescendingly though if used in the right way.
