The new macbook pros are so thin and light, what is the point of an air. Back when the macbook pro was kind of fat like mine (2012 model), the air was cool.
And the difference in price with the education discount is honestly not that much, like if you're dropping 1k for a computer, going up another $100 isn't that serious when you consider what you're getting.
But the Air was definitely the best buy a couple of years ago, for most users.
Buy insurance & apple care! The chargers go out easily and it costs $80 for a new one. I'm on my fifth one in the three years I've owned mine.
Other than that and some screen problems (tiny greenish/blue marks seen when the screen is showing black) are the only problems I've had. When I had my last computer (HP) it would stop working well after a year or so

i've had mine for 3 1/2 years and it still works like a charm.
the Air is cool but it has such a small amount of storage i could never it wouldn't even hold half of my iTunes library
