Tweet length should be extended too though (not unlimited, but definitely 300+). It's nothing more than a gimmick. It may have been helpful back in their early days so they could get press as 'the social network where you're only aloud 140 characters' or whatever, but they don't need it now.
So true. They have nothing to lose by upping the limit. Most people tend to extend their thoughts by replying to themselves anyway.
I got too excited for a second with that title. Imagining the further mess that would be Azealia Banks' twitter page with unlimited characters for tweets. Ugh.
