the history of the US is very interesting and diverse (imo) so that kept my interest. guess there's not as much going on in canada

Teachers here rarely ever give homework. Some law passed in 2013 that required classes homework only accounts for 10%-20% of your grade, while tests are the rest.

My school really pushes homework.

Teachers are expected to give homework, and most students have a couple hours of it every day.

The school I taught at for my student teaching NEVER gave homework though except for math.
