Oh my god, that's a great book; read it when I was 15. The book itself is full of passion like most classic Chinese tales tend to be like. It really tugs on the heart strings in a good way, let me know when you finish it so we can discuss!!

Don't mean to be shady but I hate history class. I've never had a particularly good history teacher either
History is probably the subject where the teacher will make or break it the most.

What do you want to do with your degree? Neither of those has great job prospects.
My other major is Commerce, so regardless I'd have that to fall back on. I'm not totally sure what I want, but one idea I think I want is to be some kind of advisor/educational planner.

At the school I teach at it is the English teachers and the Spanish teacher.
They all give a ton of homework, are super hard, and have passive aggressive personalities.

Well, I had "mandatory" history lessons during my eight years in elementary school. To be honest, I don't really care about the history of Canada, or any other country, enough to willingly sign-up for an entire class based on it.

It's extremely dry.
Also they cover up so much of the racism that existed in Canada and paint it to be like a perfect country. There was barely any coverage on Residential Schools or treatment of First Nations, and no coverage of treatment of Asian/Caribbean immigration.
