Hi everyone,

I'm going to London next Thursday for 4 days and I'm going to see Wicked on the Friday night, I'd like to know if anyone has seen it and what did they think of it? It would be most appreciated, thanks.

Our tickets cost us £225.75, they were £74.25 each

I still have never seen a Broadway (or equivalent) show of any kind

Yes, it's good, have fun, Defying Gravity is the best song, etc.

Defying Gravity is a moment you'll never forget but Kristin Chenoweth's Thank Goodness stole the show for me.

I've seen the Dutch production (which was an exact replica of the broadway/west end productions) twice. It's a fun show with great music but far from the best musical I've ever seen. People seem to be a little mixed on the current London cast but I'm sure they'll be fine. There appear to be some issues with sick cast members lately so you might see a standby or understudy when you see the show so keep that in mind, you might want to check who's on when you enter the theatre just so you know who you're seeing.

Yes it's honestly one of the best shows I've seen. The storyline is brilliant, the characters are great, and the songs are all great. I think you'll love it!

Not being able to see Kristin sing For Good in person is one of my deepest regrets over being so young.

Yes, with the original cast in the West End. Twice. Idina gave me legit chills. I use.

What does this mean?

^you're never guaranteed to see the listed cast. Sounds like they plan to recast for the busier autumn season I guess?

Kristin NAILED Glinda. Her voice is literally beautiful on the ear.

I saw it on the West End a few years ago, it was fantastic. You'll love it! I'm going to London on the 10th and I'm going to see The Phantom of the Opera and I'm so excited.

I'm a bit disappointed that Jeremy Taylor will not be playing Fylero on the 21st which is the date I'm attending, but at least he has an understudy, Matthew Croke.

If Emma Hatton is not playing the role of Elphaba during the show you're attending (other due illness or because she has a scheduled day off), you'll end up seeing stand by Natalie Andreou, first understudy Natalie McQueen or second understudy Laura Emmitt. I've heard good things about all of them so quality shouldn't be an issue. If Savannah Stevenson misses a performance as Glinda, you'll end up seeing stand-by Sophie Linder-Lee or either one of the understudies, Maria Coyne or Lauren James Ray. Fiyero understudies are Matthew Croke and Chris Cowley.

They should all be good to be honest. I would't worry about it too much.

The west end production of Wicked usually changes it's cast in september but both leads are doing another year if I recall correctly.

I love Kristin so much, literally the perfect Glinda. I wish I could have seen her or Megan Hilty in the role.

A lot of musicals aren't anything like Wicked. Wicked definitely has that campy-fun feel to it that can put a lot of people off. Then there's musicals like Les Mis, Evita, Miss Saigon, even Phantom and The Lion King to an extent that are pretty serious and powerful and feel totally different. Depends what your cup of tea is.

Yes, but I didn't really care for it. Wicked reminded me of a theme park show. Also, the score is very underwhelming. 4/10.

Loved it. You'll definitely have a good time.

Older West End shows are kinda tragic tho. Walked out of Les Mis. Considered suicide in the third hour of Madam Butterfly (technically opera but u get me).

Wicked has great songs. Second half could be trimmed a bit. Esp after the truly epic Defying Gravity (Idina gives legit goosebumps).
