minus the fact that Taylor is quite possibly the most inoffensive, vanilla pop-star ever? They're hardly comparable.

Katy started out in Pop and stayed in Pop. She also started when album sales were on the decline.
And as someone said, Katy is safe, hence why she outsold GaGa's ARTPOP era. Unless you want to use the argument that ARTPOP was a bad album but you're a stan of GaGa's so quite the catch 522 for you, eh?

It has everything to do it . Taylor sells so many albums and singles for the same reason that Katy sells so many singles, they're extremely safe and never take the risk to aleniate their fanbases, it's not hard to understand. The only difference is that Taylor built an extremely loyal country fanbase who helped her going 5x Plat without relying on hit singles in the past, that's literally the only difference. Taylor is the safest, less polarizing and most basic musical act in history
Being safe also helped Katy outselling Gaga x 2 last era, it's the same thing. Katy doesn't sell as many albums because pure pop stars rely on the GP and not their fanbases, see Rihanna

It's because people more people like her music. Whether she makes better music than Beyonce or not is subjective.

How do you explain Katy not even having sold 15 million albums worldwide despite pandering to children (she literally dressed up in a fairy princess costume in one of her vids) & being the most promoted female artist of the past 10 years? Their images are safe too. Clearly, there's something that Taylor has that the other girls, including Bey, don't.

Ariana isn't a big artist like Lady Gaga. Yes she had more hits than Gaga but that doesn't guarantee Albums sales. Ariana is more of a new Streaming Artist, hense why her album has had over 1Billion streams on spotify. Pop fans are probably the least loyal fanbases, since they probably buy singles but, won't buy Albums. So Ariana is out if the picture really

Jolie's Lips is right though. There are plenty vanilla, inoffensive acts who receive tons of radio airplay and media exposure, yet don't sell a fraction of what Taylor does. Why does it all of a sudden work in her case?

Bey is doing exceptionally well in her field, shes been #1 in RnB since she basically started and has sold extremely well considering the fact "4" is a flop to ATRL standards and BEYONCE is not made for kids. Including DC, she exceeds Taylor. Shes a legend for a reason.
On the same hand, Taylor has basically been #1 in Country ever since she started and has also sold extremely well. She has been safe with her pop sound and has made sure that all songs shes produced so far are easy to digest and be played in radio. Her sales are definitely impressive! But one shouldnt underestimate Bey all the time or specifically try to downgrade her, shes pretty much the only true legend of our generation atm.

OT, every single song on 1989 was literally destined to be spammed on pop radio, foh

But Like a Virgin and Like a Prayer (both singles and albums) were also incredibly controversial, yet extremely successful.

Country artists still sell way better than R&B artists do, generally.

Katy started it out in 2008, and don't start with album sales declining excuse when Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Susan Boyle, 1D etc.. outsold her and they all debuted after her
Again what's ARTPOP have to do with anything? Are you seriously trying to avoid the question on why Taylor is demolishing the others with her huge album sales?

You're NOT going to call out Taylor for being safe and not do the same with Katy lmao, Taylor is switching up genres and still slaying, don't get me started with her grammys, acclaim, etc..

So we just gonna have to pretend like it doesn't exist anymore and white people don't benefit from it? ok
