I know dozens of adult music fans who are in their 20s and 30s. These people KNOW who Taylor Swift is (because she's an A-list celebrity), but cannot name any hit songs by her. This is because they don't absolutely don't care for her music. They consider Taylor to be a teen pop act, like Katy, Ariana, Miley, 1D, and Avril.

I can see where these people get that logic. If you attend any concert by Taylor or Katy, a vast majority of the audience comprise of teens, tweens, and soccer moms. Those are the types of consumers that Taylor, Katy, et. al. are targeting.

Believe me, I've been to many Taylor/Katy concerts.
