I think TOL and SIO will pass 5 million in total sales before 2015 ends. TOL must cross 4 million for 2015 alone to do that + 30,000. But there are the VMAs, AMAs, Thanksgiving, and Christmas boosts before 2015 ends too, which should help both songs (since both artists are nominated).

Under the current RIAA rules, Uptown Funk's sales plus streaming put it well past Diamond status. So I don't know what the label keeps waiting on to update UF's certification. UF's only certified at half of what it's eligible for.

Are you sure? Do you have a number for it's US streams?
It got now certified 9x platinum. That seems correct. Would be something between 250 and 350 million US streams to go along with it's 6.5 million sales.

For the 2015 midyear report (December 29 2014 through June 28 2015), it racked up 368 million streams, so it's definitely eligible at this point (including any streams before December 29th and after June 28th). Assuming that 368 million breaks down to 3.68 million "downloads" (according to RIAA's formula for conversion), then this puts it over 10 million in certifiable units.

Roar, Dark Horse, and Firework should also all be eligible for diamond status as well.

6.5 million sales and over 400 million streams; it was close to these #s by 25 July, so RIAA should have certified UF Diamond instead of 9X Platinum. That move confused me.
