I knew this guy in high school who was a White Sox fan but spent more time hating on the Cubs. He would criticize half the Cubs roster but could not tell you the White Sox starting lineup. He was very annoying.

That's great to hear. Glad to see more Mets fans surfacing here. I think Cora is doing a good job filling in for Reyes until he gets back, hopefully he'll be back after the All-Star break. Murphy is playing good at 1B but doesn't replace Delgado's power. Delgado should be back by August. I think the mets should pursue getting another starting pitcher but I see them going after another bat. If so I would like to see them get a guy like Mark DeRosa, a utility guy who can practically play almost everywhere. This is going to be a fun week vs. the Phils and Yanks. Can't wait for the first subway series of the season this weekend.

BTW I'll try to check out your radio show when I can.

Hole Camels has never been able to pitch well against the Mets. Some of the guys like Delgado and Beltran always had his number. So for him to talk trash about them makes me laugh. Pelfrey needs to get over the Yips and just pitch on Wednesday.

I'm not banking on Delgado coming back in August. As much as I would like to, you kind of have to rule him out for the rest of the season. Even Omar last week said he's not thinking much about Delgado coming back, because it's true. You don't replace 40 homeruns, you just don't...

I love Dan Murphy, I think he's found a home at first base.

I like Cora filling in for Reyes too (Cora just got back last week from the thumb injury), but seeing Wilson Valdez and Ramon Martinez filling in just annoys me to no end. Those guys, especially Valdez should not be on a major league roster...

I hope Ryan Church has a good week against the Phils. The 3 lefties are going (J.A. Happ tonight, Hole, then Jamie Moyer on Thursday), he needs to start every game. He just got back Sunday from DL and had a pretty good day. (2 hits and a 1 run)

MLB All-Star Game Rosters have been announced.
Also, the roster has been extended from 32 to 33, to have an extra pitcher for each league. This is due to most clubs using 12 or 13 man pitching staffs nowadays. I hope MLB extends the roster from 25 to 26 or 27 for regular season play (Opening Day to Sept 1st) for next year.

I'd like the Wilpons to just pay for victories. Thanks.

The AL roster is far better than the NL roster. The big NL power hitters all participated in the home run derby which will be a huge negative for their team. But you never know and that is why they play the game. Of course, being a Yankees fan, the AL is the only way to go for me.

The NL lost again, 4-3.

Most surprsing news was Cliff Lee going to the Phillies. As a Mets fan I'm glad the Phillies got Lee and not Halladay. I guess the Phillies got tired of trying to negotiate with the Blue Jays GM J.P. Riciardi, who wants a kings ransom for Halladay. Looks like he is going to remain a Blue Jay unless some team offers a huge deal at the last minute which could happen.

I'm glad the Phils got Lee too. I was afraid they were going to end up with Doc... right now, looks like NO ONE is ending up w/ him.. Thankfully..
