Girl, St. Patrick's Day is huge in Ireland, it's a public holiday and there are parades in every town. Mostly it's a day to drink loads of alcohol though

I feel ya, I have the same feeling towards Americans and being Polish with their pierogi days and eating kielbasas.
Don't speak a word Polish (if you so proud why didn't you learn even the basics), know nothing about the culture or seen it at least once but act like they personally fought in WWII for Poland.

This is a general thing in America.

Since people come from everywhere and being just American is boring they cling to some past ethnicity without having any connection to it for a few generations.
