I was pretty nice about it
I've actually seen some of my peers, especially tenured professors, being really mean when it comes to that.
I dunno if you recall that I mentioned a friend of mine was teaching at your school (she left this summer for a better paying job in NC). She can be mean about the rules that she imposes in her classes.

Nein. Better benefits in Europe, but the salaries are higher here. Then again, I think there's more pressure when it comes to publishing on a regular basis here. Pluses and minuses, depending on where you go and your academic field.
