GOd, that sounds dreadful. I've been to UK (London), nice city, we were luckily blessed with good weather; which isn't always the case I suppose. The accent is cute, even though the people who lived there made fun of mine

The RP accent is great, and I love the Kent accent (biased af though ) but cockney is awful, as is Cornwall/Geordies/the North in general.
Did y'all know Nottingham was real, and that it was in England, not Scotland? I was shocked tbh.

As someone who is from the Nottingham area, I find Max's post offensive!

It's exciting to me cause nothing ever happens here I have a neighbor who gets paranoid when it's a big one and asks to use my basement but I just stay in and watch Netflix till the power cuts off, if at all.

if anything, tornadoes usually last like five mins here and half of the time nobody panics. But i'm secretly dying inside.

You guys are so lucky to be living in english speaking areas, though. That's one thing I envy from almost everyone here right now.

Genuinely though, I thought King Arthur was just fake but apparently the place was real. I didn't realise it wasn't Scotland until I met my somewhat-distant-cousins ( ) and they were posh af.

The town where I live is incredibly racist, homophobic, backwards, etc., and there's been quite a few murders (?) as of late. So...

I don't envy people from England, but for just one reason: Cupid attempted to demonstrate the accent in his area to me via a text-based form, and I'm still here weeks later trying to figure out what 80% of the slang and pronunciation even means.
I couldn't live with that ****

While I was on vacation in Alaska I discovered that Huckleberries are actually the GOAT fruit.
Where have you been all my life?
I picked a gallon to freeze and bring home, but I don't know how I will survive once I run out.

I used to live in a place called Swanscombe, I don't know what that was but it was not English.
Uncultured swine, the lot of them!

Wow, could've sworn we had that function.

When I visited the UK, everyone that I was with was struggling to understand the accents except me. I don't find them that hard, but I stayed in the city, I'm sure in other places the accent is a lot thicker.

We could play the I-have-it-worse game all day but to be frank, growing up in a province that has language laws--yes, you heard that right, language laws--is pretty frustrating.

I live in a town near a city and there have been times when I've gone to the city and people haven't understood me. I literally had to change my accent a bit when I started college there.

I hate internet connection in my country, it's so tragic. This is what I have to deal with when I live in a third world country.
