First of all collaborating with a hot rapper for some extra sales is not what I call impact. Kendrick and Taylor both used each other's audiences, it was a very clear and basic scheme. Singers collaborate with rappers every time, so miss me with that flop argument.
I do not care that she has sold a billion albums or whatever. Selling a lot doesn't mean that you actually have impact on "pop culture". Of course she would have impact on her fans, otherwise they wouldn't be fans. But I have yet to see her impact on pop culture, a term that involves a lot of things. Did she have massive impact on other singers ? No. Did she start any trend/craze ? No. Does she actually have any iconic moment ? No. Did she even inspire any fashion trend ? No. Did she take country or pop to another level ? No. She's by far the safest act in pop history. As for that part about "attention-seeking" gestures, let me not
