Magazine shows like Lorraine, where there is a high risk of a live performance going wrong due to a technical fault or something, often request an artist mimes or at least sings over a very loud backing track but obviously there are some exceptions like GA with The Loving Kind.

But it could've been her management that told her to lip synch because although the performance on that Irish TV show wasn't too bad, she was criticised a little (especially on Twitter).

Either way, Threads is a bad song and this performance did nothing to help it. I'm still gonna check out the other songs on the EP though.

I seen this on TV it was tragic.

There's an EP and single out and apparently an album coming after it but I'll be surprised if it does come out with all the backlash she's been getting in recent weeks.
