Gigi's cover for W is her best work thus far, but I can't help but to be disappointed in today's industry tactics. You only have to look at Balmain's F/W 2015 campaign with Kendall and Kylie to see that many models are now only booked for their Instagram follower count. That, or Rousteing is content on ruining this fashion house.

I agree with you, it's nice to see the supermodel rejuvenation, but it just falls a bit flat for me. Then again, there will never be anything like the Big 6 in our lifetime!

Instagram, twitter, Facebook, tumblr etc. are the things that are revitalizing the term "supermodel". With social media, beautiful ppl are able to achieve more fame then ever before; and with fame comes opportunity.

People use the term "supermodel" too loosely. The only reason many of these girls are becoming known is because of Instagram & other social media platforms. Or, mere proximity to celebs (Kendall, Chanel, & Jourdan... Joan already had a pretty solid modeling career).

If you're referring to the real supermodel era like in the 90s/2000s, no there is no comeback. But queen Naomi will always be relevant
